Services Offered at Centre for Sight Eye Hospital in Rewari Azad Chowk

SILK Eye Surgery

Centre for Sight at Rewari Azad Chowk offers SILK (Smooth Incision Lenticule Keratomileusis), a next-generation refractive procedure designed for precise vision correction with enhanced patient comfort. SILK combines the benefits of minimally invasive techniques with advanced laser technology to treat conditions like myopia and astigmatism.
Unlike traditional methods, SILK uses a high-precision femtosecond laser to create a lenticule, preserving more of the corneal structure. This contributes to faster healing, minimal disruption to the eye’s surface, and reduced post-operative discomfort.
At our Rewari Azad Chowk Centre, SILK procedures are done by trained surgeons using state-of-the-art equipment to ensure safety and accuracy.

SMILE Eye Surgery

Centre for Sight Rewari Azad Chowk also provides SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) – a newer generation of laser refractive surgery that offers a minimally invasive alternative to LASIK. SMILE is particularly effective for correcting:

• Mild to moderate myopia
• Astigmatism

The procedure uses a femtosecond laser to create a thin disc-shaped tissue (lenticule) within the cornea, which is removed through a small incision. This flapless method reduces the risk of dry eyes and maintains corneal stability.

Our Rewari Azad Chowk Centre performs SMILE procedures by trained ophthalmic surgeons using advanced ZEISS VisuMax femtosecond laser systems. Pre-surgical screening ensures patients meet the medical criteria for SMILE, and post-operative care is structured to support safe healing.

LASIK Eye Surgery

LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is one of the most commonly performed procedures at our Rewari Azad Chowk facility. It is recommended for individuals with refractive errors such as:

• Myopia (nearsightedness)
• Hyperopia (farsightedness)
• Astigmatism

The LASIK procedure involves reshaping the cornea using laser technology, allowing light to focus correctly on the retina and improving vision clarity. The treatment is typically painless, quick, and does not require hospitalisation. Most patients experience improved vision within 24 to 48 hours after the procedure.

Patient suitability for LASIK is determined based on a comprehensive eye evaluation, including corneal thickness, topography, and ocular health. Those with stable vision prescriptions, healthy corneas, and no underlying eye diseases are generally considered ideal candidates.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery is another primary service at our Rewari Azad Chowk location. Cataracts occur when the eye's natural lens becomes cloudy, typically due to ageing or prolonged exposure to UV light. The procedure involves removing and replacing the clouded lens with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL).

Our centre uses advanced phacoemulsification and laser-assisted techniques for cataract extraction. Benefits of these methods include:

• Smaller incisions
• Reduced healing time
• Improved surgical accuracy

Patients can choose from a range of IOLs, including monofocal, multifocal, and toric lenses, depending on their vision needs. Pre-operative assessments involve checking the overall eye health, measuring the eye, and discussing visual expectations.

The cataract procedures are performed on a day-care basis, meaning hospitalisation is not required. Post-surgery, patients receive instructions on medication usage, activity limitations, and follow-up visits to monitor visual recovery.

Glaucoma Treatment

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, usually due to increased intraocular pressure (IOP). Early detection is critical to prevent irreversible vision loss.

At Centre for Sight Rewari Azad Chowk, glaucoma care involves:

• Regular monitoring of IOP
• Visual field testing
• Optic nerve imaging

Treatment options include:

• Prescription eye drops to reduce IOP
• Laser therapy, such as selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT)
• Surgical procedures for advanced cases

Our ophthalmologists tailor the treatment plan based on the type and severity of glaucoma. Patients are educated about medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and the importance of ongoing follow-up care.

Retina and Uvea Services

The retina captures light and sends signals to the brain, while the uvea consists of the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. Conditions affecting these structures can lead to vision impairment if not managed promptly.

At Centre for Sight Rewari Azad Chowk, the following retinal and uveal conditions are evaluated and treated:

• Diabetic Retinopathy
• Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
• Retinal Detachment
• Uveitis (inflammation of the uveal tract)

Diagnostic tools include:

• Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
• Fundus fluorescein angiography
• B-scan ultrasonography

Treatment options are condition-specific and may include:

• Intravitreal injections (anti-VEGF drugs for AMD or diabetic macular oedema)
• Laser photocoagulation
• Vitreo-retinal surgery for retinal detachments
• Corticosteroids or immunosuppressants for uveitis

Patients undergoing retinal or uveal treatment receive a structured care plan, which includes regular follow-ups to monitor disease progression and response to therapy.
