- Maj Gen JKS Parihar was born on 26 Feb 1957 at Gwalior. He did MBBS from GRMC Gwalior & MGM Indore, DOMS (Indore) MS (Jabalpur) and acquired DNB as well as undergone Post Doctoral Trg in Anterior Seg Microsurgery from AIIMS New Delhi. He has a distinction of being Fellow of National Academy of Medical sciences, India (FAMS).

- He has served in the armed forces for about 34 years with distinction and attained the rank of Major General which is the second highest rank for any doctor in the armed forces of India. He held various important assignments like Addl Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (Medical Research, Health &Trg, Education),Professor and HOD of Ophthalmology at AH(R&R) Delhi Cantt & Professor of Ophthalmology at AFMC Pune. He is affiliated at present with Centre for Sight (Ophthalmic Superspeciality tertiary Care & DNB Trg Institute) New Delhi as a Senior Consultant Ophthalmology & Head, Academics and Trg & Professor of Ophthalmology.

- Maj Gen JKS Parihar has excelled as an academician, medical administrator and instructor of international eminence through his superb professional skill in the highly specialized fields of Refractory Glaucoma and Kerato lenticular refractive surgery and research. He has published 102 research publications in national & international journals and presented 705 research papers and Inst Courses in national & international conferences .He has authored 5 books and many Chapters . He is a peer reviewer of International journals like US journal of Cataract & Refract, British Journal of Ophthalmology, International Journal of Ophthalmology (Springer /Germany) and BMC.He is a keen researcher and completed 30 mega research projects under the aegis of Armed Forces Medical Research Committee ,DRDO & ICMR. He is a PhD /MS/DOMS/DNB Guide of Delhi, Pune, MUHS Nashik Universities and NBE as well having Post Graduate & Undergraduate Examiner ship of 19 universities.
- He has extensively contributed towards prevention & control of blindness. More than 4 Lakh patients have benefitted in 275 camps conducted all over the country including in remote areas of Ladakh, North East, Maharashtra, Bengal and Nepal. His achievement was endorsed as a world record by the Limca Book of World record in 2013 for performing Phacoemulsification cataract Surgery at the highest altitude of 14106 feet.
- He has more than 40 national and international professional and distinguished service awards in his credit. The President of India had conferred Sena Medal (Distinguished) ,Bar to VSM and VSM upon him. He has also received APAO Distinguished service award by Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology at Sydney, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Appreciation Award 2016, VII Dr.M.C.Nahta Netra Suraksha Puraskar, NSPB Award ,IIRSI Special Gold medal twice in 2013 & 2009 , Air Marshal MS Boparai Award by OTSI and many other awards.

- Maj Gen Parihar has more than 80000 Phacoemulsification, 3500 Corneal Transplants, and 2000 Glaucoma valve surgeries in his credit in his more than 40 years of professional career. He has supervised and supported more than 70000 cataract surgeries performed by his juniors under his guidance as well. First in the country to perform live Penetrating Keratoplasty & Phacoemulsification Surgery with IOL implantation in India in 2001.
- First in the country to perform Live Glaucoma Valve surgery in India in 2007 and subsequently on numerous occasions including the first-ever Glaucoma Valve Surgery at an altitude of 11000 feet anywhere in the world in 2011.
- First in the country to perform Live Express Shunt (Micro Glaucoma Shunt)in India in 2013.
- Innovations in Colour vision detection lantern: Designed and developed indigenised Colour Vision Detection Equipment under the aegis of DGAMS and DRDO (Live sciences)
- Designed ICL/Phakic IOL In collaboration with Government agencies. (Process of Indian patent has been initiated).
