Dr. Hemlata Gupta is a Senior Consultant at Centre For Sight (Gurugram/Delhi) and has been associated with the organisation since 2008. With over 18 years of extensive experience, she is a highly skilled cataract and refractive surgeon, known for successfully managing routine as well as complex and challenging cases.
Her expertise in cataract surgery includes advanced techniques such as femto-cataract and micro-incision cataract surgery (MICS). She has performed more than 60,000 cataract surgeries with excellent outcomes. In the field of refractive surgery, she is proficient in a wide range of advanced vision correction procedures including SMILE, SILK, SMILE Pro, SmartSurf, iLASIK, Contoura Vision (Topography-Guided LASIK), Customized LASIK, PRK, and ICL, along with treatments for keratoconus such as corneal cross-linking (C3R) and intracorneal ring segments (ICRS). She has successfully performed over 6,000 refractive surgeries.
Dr. Gupta has made significant academic contributions, with 400+ scientific presentations at national and international conferences and 50+ publications, including textbook chapters in reputed scientific journals and postgraduate books. She has held prestigious editorial roles, including Co-Editor of the North Zone Journal of Ophthalmology and Delhi Journal of Ophthalmology, and Chief Editor of the Centre For Sight newsletter ‘Spectrum’.
She is an active member of leading professional bodies such as the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS), North Zone Ophthalmological Society (NZOS), and Chandigarh Ophthalmological Society. She has also been associated with international societies including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS).
Dr. Gupta is deeply involved in teaching and training. She conducts LASIK and SMILE training programs for national and international ophthalmologists and has trained more than 20 eye surgeons so far. She is also a cataract and refractive surgery fellowship trainer and has served as an examiner for DNB examinations.

Reshmi Award.
