Dry eye is caused by lack of lubrication and moisture on the surface of eyes. With that arises many other problems like irritation and sometimes even scarring of eyes. It is very common from people of every age.
Sometimes doctors even prescribe some medicines to create more tears in eyes to keep it wet. Try to blink more frequently to keep your eyes moist. If you use eye makeup, remove it thoroughly and clean your eyelids. Take more frequent breaks from your computer screens. If still the problem persists it is always advisable to consult the doctor at an early stage to give your eyes a proper care.
There are many effective treatment options available for dry eyes. In some cases, routine artificial tears and taking frequent breaks in between the work can reduce dry eye symptoms. It gives quick relief and no blurry vision after applying it.
Your doctor may need to prescribe specific medications to reduce inflammation and increasing the secretion of tear film.
There are Punctal plugs available which helps the tears to stay on eye surface for more time. It is a very small device inserted at one of the tear drainage duct. You can also give your eyes warm compress at temperature 108 degrees Fahrenheit for more than 10 minutes twice a day. Keep your eyes healthy and comfortable always.
