Major General (Dr) Jitendra Kumar Singh Parihar is an astute eye surgeon, academician and skill transfer resource person of international eminence in the highly specialized fields of Anterior Segment, Glaucoma valve and complex ocular surgeries. He has more than 60,000 Cataract, 2500 Corneal Transplant , 1000 Glaucoma valve and 1500 refractive laser surgeries in his credit in a professional carrier of 35 years. He has served Indian Armed Forces and held various appointments including Professor at AFMC Pune and Professor Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Army Hospital (Research and Referral) Delhi Cantt for almost one decade. He held the prestigious appointment of Additional Director General Armed Forces(Medical Research ,Health & Training /Education) and was responsible to monitor and galvanized Medical Research and education in various medical teaching institutes of entire Armed forces services. He has steered and scaled new dimensions to research and academics in collaboration with DRDO and ICMR not only in AFMS but in civil forum as well. He led the organization by setting up a personal example of a committed researcher who conducted 25 research projects himself in his career. Of these, basic research in the field of refractive glaucoma, cultivated ocular stem cells and High altitude medicine proved to be path breaking, published and acclaimed globally. He has designed an indigenous color vision detection device, echoing to make in India.
He has vast experience in medical education in university stream equivalent to the Vice chancellor and having organisational flare to develop facilities of health education and community ophthalmic services. He is a postgraduate teacher and PhD guide of Delhi University as well as an examiner of several universities .His contribution towards augmenting and assuring qualitative jump to medical education and academics in the country as an expert chair of various groups in govt. statuary bodies like National Board of Exams , MCI, ICMR, Life Sciences, BSI ,FDA and public service commissions has been noteworthy . He has undergone Postdoctoral Long term training in Anterior Segment Microsurgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences ,New Delhi as well as having distinction of being Fellow of National Academy of Medical sciences, India(FAMS) since 2012.
He has more than 600 publications and research communications in National, International journals and coveted forums. His work including a monograph on Phacoemulsification Surgery attained international authority in medical sciences.
He has profusely contributed towards prevention and control of blindness activities.
He designed a module comprising transfer of technology of phacoemulsification up to grass root level and to develop modern eye camps with enhanced facilities and coordination amongst national level organizations as well as to lay stress upon national harmony and environment protection. Approximately 4 Lakh patients have benefitted from more than 275 camps conducted all over the country including remote areas of Ladakh, North East, Maharashtra and West Bengal. Eye camps conducted in ladakh witnessed a rare land mark in the history of modern Ophthalmology, probably maiden Phaco camps ever conducted at a height of 14106 feet, this unique achievement was recognised by the media and was announced as a world record by LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS 2013 for Modern Cataract Surgery at highest altitude in the world.
Major General JKS Parihar has several awards in his credit including coveted recognition by the President of India thrice on the occasions of Republic day in the form of awards like SENA MEDAL 2003 , VISHISHT SEVA MEDAL 2007 & Bar to VSM in 2014. The “Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Appreciation Award 2016” conferred by the Govt of Afghanistan for expressing humanity & maintaining roots of mutual friendship through vigorous efforts of treating patients from ANA. He has been honored by professional bodies at both International and national level such as the Distinguished Service Award 2011 by Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology at Australia, FAMS 2012 by the National Academy of Medical Sciences , Air Marshal MS Boparai oration and award 2017 by Ocular Trauma Society of India, VIIth Dr MC Nahata Naitra Suraksha Puraskar 2011,Dr Kumud Joshi Memorial Award 2015 and NSPB Award 2005 by National Society of Prevention and Control of Blindness , Dr PR Roy ACOIN Award 2014 by Association of Community Ophthalmologists of India , 7th International Sardar Patel Award 2012 by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Foundation, New Delhi, Dr PN Khanna award 2014 by Delhi, Dr. SD Athavale Award 2005 by Maharashtra , Dr Sandeep Wagh award 2013 by Poona Ophthalmological society and Gold Medal (twice 2013 and 09) conferred by the Indian Society of Intra Ocular Lens Implant and Refractive Surgery. He is proud recipient of commendation awards of Chief of Army Staff , VCOS ,GOC in C Northern and Western Command as well as appreciation award by the Governor of WB,J& K, Assam and Mizoram.
He has the unique honour and privilege to be chosen by several top most and prominent dignitaries of India including two successive President of India as an operating ophthalmic surgeon.
Dr. Kapil Bhatia completed his basic medical education at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi. He did his post-graduate training in Ophthalmology from Guru Nanak Eye Centre (Maulana Azad Medical College), New Delhi. He further trained in Vitreo-retina, Uvea and Trauma at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad (July 2008- June 2010). Thereafter he worked as Vitreo-retina consultant at L V Prasad Eye institute, Bhubaneswar, C L GUPTA Eye Institute Moradabad, and L V Prasad Eye Institute Visakhapatnam, India (Sept 2010-April 2012). He further worked as Eddie Donaldson Vitreo-retina fellow (August 2012-June 2013), and Honorary Medical retina fellow (July 2013-Feb 2014) at the Sydney Eye hospital, Sydney, Australia. He is currently working as an Associate Consultant (Vitreo-retina, Trauma, and Uvea) at Centre for Sight, Jaipur (Rajasthan).
Dr. Bhatia’s current interests comprise of Age related macular degeneration (ARMD), Diabetic retinopathy (DR), Vascular occlusions, Retinal detachment, Congenital and hereditary retinal disorders, posterior uveitis, and trauma. He has published in several peer-reviewed journals and wrote book chapters. He has presented several papers and posters in various national and international Ophthalmology conferences.
He has been involved in several national and international community services comprise of “Motiyabind Mukti Abhiyan” (Cataract Free Delhi) in the years 2005-2008, organized by the government of Delhi for screening for cataract cases and organizing free surgery camps in different institutes as a part of a program to decrease cataract blindness in Delhi. He participated in the LIFE-LINE EXPRESS of the Impact India Foundation- a hospital on a train at Ashok nagar in Madhya Pradesh where took care of screening, pre operative assessment as well as performed cataract during March-April 2006. He was a part of team doing ROP screening and lasers at various NICUs and paediatric hospitals in Hyderabad (2008-2010).
He also did 2 months of rural work at a secondary eye care hospital of LV Prasad eye institute at Adilabad and Kandakur (AP). He participated in several teaching programs including wet-lab and teaching of junior registrars, nurses, and optometrist students while at University of Sydney, Australia.
He is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Vitreo-retina society of India (VRSI), and alumni in prestigious Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia.
Dr. Kaustubh Mulay had his basic medical education at the K.I.M.S, Karad. He received post-graduate training in Pathology, followed by senior residency in Anatomical Pathology and Cytology at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad.
Dr. Mulay further trained in Oncopathology at Bangalore Institute of Oncology, Bangalore and later in Ophthalmic Pathology at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. He currently heads the Department of Ophthalmic Pathology at the National Reporting Centre for Ophthalmic Pathology (NRCOP), Centre for Sight, Hyderabad.
Dr. Mulay’s current research interests comprise of ocular adnexal lymphoproliferative lesions, lacrimal gland tumors, IgG4-related disease, sebaceous gland carcinoma and tumors of the orbit. He has published in several peer-reviewed journals and has many presentations/posters to his credit, both, national and international. He is also a reviewer for many peer-reviewed internal journals.
Some of the major awards and honors to his credit include the G Subbalaxmi Gold medal for young scientist and several best paper awards at the AIOS and IAPM meetings.

Dr Keya Barman is currently a senior consultant in the department of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in Centre for Sight Eye Institute Delhi.
Prior to this she was a Senior Consultant in Narayana Nethralaya Bangalore where she was a high volume senior surgeon and was an integral part of the cataract training for fellows , foreign fellows and DNB students.
Previous to that she was Chief Medical Officer and Head of a Vasan Eye Care Bangalore, where she was in charge of cataract and refractive surgeries.
Previous to that she was a Senior Cataract and Head of Department of Refractive surgery in Susrut Eye Hospital and Research Centre. This is where she started training surgeons and fellows in cataract and refractive surgery in 2008. She has completed her basic medical education and Masters in Ophthalmology from M P Shah Medical College and Guru Govind Singh Group of Hospitals Jamnagar, Gujarat in 2005.
Her main areas of interest are Refractive lens surgery including FEMTO assisted Cataract surgeries,phakic iols (ICL), Toric and Multifocal implant surgeries and Refractive surgeries including LASIK, FEMTOLASIK and SMILE.
She has presented in various conferences and performed live surgeries at various National Conferences.
Dr. Lalit Mohan Rastogi has done his MBBS & MS from KGMC, Lucknow in the year 1989. During his MS, Dr. Rastogi worked with Prof. P K Agarwal, a renowned Oculoplastic Surgeon of that time. He has performed almost all types of oculoplastic procedures. He went on to learn phacoemulsification under the guidance of Dr. V K Tiwari, a renowned surgeon in North India. Dr. Rastogi has keen interests in phacoemulsification, SICS, anterior segment and oculoplasty. He has presented various papers in UPSOS.
Dr. Lalit Verma pursued his medical education at the graduate and post graduate level at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. He has worked for 21 years at R P Centre, AIIMS as Additional Professor, Associate Professor, Asst. Professor, Senior Resident/ Registrar and Junior Resident. Apart from Centre for Sight, he is also working presently as Vitreoretinal surgeon with Apollo Hospitals. His areas of specialization include Vitreous & Retinal Surgery, Endophthalmitis, Laser Surgery, FA, ICG, ARMD, Intravitreal Injections, PDT, TTT, etc.
He has been Invited Speaker in numerous Workshops/Instruction Courses and has presented papers in various conferences and workshops in India and abroad. He has several publications in International (Including those in Archives of Ophthalmology, Investigative Ophthalmology, JJO, IRSM, Ophthalmic Surgery, Retina etc.), National and State indexed and non-indexed journals to his credit. Dr. Verma has authored A Manual of Fluorescein Angiography + Book on Intravitreal Injections, CME Series of AIOS (on Endophthalmitis; Uveitis) and 41 Chapters in different National & International books on Ophthalmology and has undertaken 38 research projects and theses.

Dr. Mahipal S Sachdev, Chairman & Medical Director of Centre for Sight group of eye hospitals is a renowned Ophthalmic Surgeon who is recognized for his expertise in the areas of Cataract, Cornea & Refractive surgery, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Sachdev pursued his medical education at the graduate and post graduate level at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He later joined AIIMS as a Faculty Member. In the year 1989, he completed Fellowship at Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA.
Dr. Sachdev is a pioneer in propagating the technique of Phacoemulsification (stitchless cataract surgery) in India. He is also widely credited to pioneer the newest generation Femtosecond laser cataract surgery and has done the maximum number of femtocataract surgeries in India. He is a leading refractive surgeon proficient in wide variety of laser vision correction procedures from LASIK to PRK, ICL and SMILE. He is also one of the fastest surgeons to reach the milestone of performing 1000 ReLEx SMILE procedures in the country.
Dr. Sachdev has been honored with Padmashri award for his excellence in the field of Medicine by Hon. President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam on March 23, 2007. He has received numerous awards and distinctions in India and abroad for his contribution to Ophthalmology. He has been recognized globally with fellowships and scholarships from the “Fifth International Symposium on Immunopathology”- Japan, “International Society of Eye Research”, “Research to Prevent Blindness”, New York, “Fisons award by the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists”, USA amongst others. In India he has won the “A C Aggrawal Memorial Trophy”, “Col. Ranagachary Certificate”, “Krishna Sohan Singh Trophy”, “Dr Ishwar Chand Silver Jubilee Award” to name a few.
Dr. Sachdev has been active in imparting surgical training to the ophthalmic community. He has conducted several live surgery demonstrations in the remotest locations of India to teach and popularize the technique of suture less cataract surgery. He was the secretary of the Delhi Ophthalmological Society from 1993 to 1995 and the president for the same society in the year 2006. Under his stewardship the society was transformed from a small local body to an organization of national eminence which influences the practice of Ophthalmology in a major way both in India and abroad. Dr Mahipal was also the Chairman of the scientific committee of the All India Ophthalmological Society from 1996 to 1999, a distinction that he achieved at the young age of 38. He is presently the Chairman of Intraocular Implant & Refractive Society (India) and was earlier its Secretary. He has also been elected International Member by American Academy of Ophthalmology. In the year 1999 he was inducted to the Summit Autonomous Society USA, which recognizes leading refractive surgeons globally. He is the Indian representative at the Asia Refractive Council and has been active in various international symposia and conferences, where he has conducted courses and presented over 150 papers. He has over 100 published articles to his credit. He has also been the editor of the Delhi Journal of Ophthalmology and Visiscan and was on the editorial board of various journals like the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Indian Pediatrics, ophthalmology World Report etc. He has authored over 5 books in the area of eye surgery including the first book on Phaco by any Indian. These books are today referred to by every budding Ophthalmologist. Dr. Sachdev is an active contributor of articles on eye health in mass media for the benefit of the general public also.
Dr. Mukesh Garg has done his MBBS from Govt. Medical College Patiala and DNB Ophthalmology from St Stephen’s Hospital, Delhi. After his post-graduation he gained extensive pan-ophthalmic experience of more than 3 years while working as Senior Resident at St Stephen’s Hospital. His areas of interest include Cataract, refractive surgery and Glaucoma. He is a proficient Phaco cataract and Refractive surgeon with numerous successful surgeries to his credit. He has vast experience of performing all types of Glaucoma surgeries and specialises in diagnostic procedures of Glaucoma like Visual Field, OCT and Gonioscopy. He is a life member of Delhi Ophthalmology Society and All India Ophthalmology Society.
Dr Mukesh Sharma did his MD Senior residency (fellowship) from Dr R P centre, AIIMS; passed DNB International council of ophthalmology basic clinical science assessment exam. He served in SMS Medical College, Jaipur as faculty from 1998-2013 and now he is Medical Director CFS Jaipur
He is a prolific surgeon with more than 20,000 surgeries to his credit. His areas of interest are Cataract, Cornea refractive, Oculoplasty, Orbital surgery Squint. He has his own internationally presented modifications in Fascia lata Ptosis surgery, Optic Nerve sheath fenestration surgery ,Adjustable suture squint surgery Parotid duct transposition surgery. He headed the Limbal stem cell culture project of ICMR in Jaipur was successful in cultivating limbal stem cells. He has more than 100 presentations in various national international conferences performed live surgeries in various forums
He was an avid quizzer won All India Ophthalmological society Quiz in 1996 Delhi Ophthalmological Society quiz in 1996 1997.He won best paper award 3 times (Maximum possible) in continuity in Rajasthan Ophthalmological society annual conferences in 1999 to 2002. He also won Best paper of the session award in annual DOS conference. He His team won Rajasthan Premier League 3 times consecutively (2011-13). He was awarded Gold medal in annual IIRSI conference for his contribution. He was the Editor Journal-Rajasthan Ophthalmological society (2008-2010), Secretary Jaipur Ophthalmological Society (2009-11) Chairman Scientific Committee- Rajasthan Ophthalmological society (2011-2013).
Now he is Hon. General Secretary of Rajasthan Ophthalmological Society & also General Secretary of the prestigious OculoplasticsAssociation of India.
