In India, out of estimated 15 million blind population, 80% are suffering from the disease of curable blindness, Cataract. A large percentage of these come from economically weaker section of the society.
In order to break the burden of this disease, Centre for Sight took the social responsibility of helping to eradicate curable blindness. On the occasion of the 59th year of Independent India, CFS launched its dedicated economic service wing at Green Park.
The centre with its sophisticated equipments, infrastructure and human resource aims at providing super specialized care in various eye disorders under its roof. The surgeries are performed by a team of super specialized skilled doctors. The cataract surgery is also carried out with the latest technology of phacoemulsification that results in no stitch, no pad, no injection, walk in walk out cataract surgery. It brings the advantage of sophisticated and high quality ophthalmic care within the reach of the common man. The patients can avail the special subsidized rates that have been designed and can be compared with that of government hospital rates to reach out every segment of the society.
Centre for Sight has also been an active participant of Motiabind Mukti Abhiyan, a charity cataract surgery program of Delhi Government. The hospital has also adopted villages to accomplish its base camp approach.
